Beaver County Courthouse

This high profile project involves the construction of two new building wings on either side of the existing courthouse, relocation of employees, demolition of existing courthouse and the construction of an entrance colonnade and outdoor plaza that connects the two new wings and the existing annex

The building is monumental in stature and is both historical and contemporary in design

It is faced with limestone, which has been mined from the same quarry as the annex

The central atrium tower of the new building showcases the beautiful existing clock

Glass window walls provide a visual connection between the new exterior plaza and the landscaped interior courtyards

The courtyards echo the design of the plaza and incorporate exposed aggregate paving and Pennsylvania bluestone banding

The plaza entrance includes a large terraced stair, a limestone colonnade, decorative paving and plantings

The main corridors of the new courthouse have decorative carpeting with a marble tile border and base as well as glass and cherry paneled doors with cherry wood trim

The corridors are lit indirectly by concealed lights in the bulkheads within the ceiling, which reflect off the painted walls

The new courtrooms have cherry wood paneling and a plaster cove ceiling
